ThrillerFest XI Recap
Recently, I was honored to speak at the International Thriller Writers's Thrillerfest XI conference in New York City in July. I participated in a panel with six other suspense authors on the topic, "GUCCI, 5-11 TACTICAL or WALMART: Dressing Your Character in Style."
Shakespeare once said, "the apparel oft proclaims the man." This statement had much relevance during the panel discussion as the group spent a lot of time talking about how dress proclaims both the male and female characters in their novels.
Panel Master Kathleen Antrim did a great job of guiding the panel through the topic. Fellow panel members included Annie Rose Alexander, J.L. Hughes, Kay Kendall, Laura McHugh, and Kate Moretti.
The conference brought together thriller/suspense writers from the United States and around the world. I enjoyed meeting and speaking with big-name authors (such as Lee Child, Steve Berry, Gillian Flynn, C.J. Box). But, the chance to network and learn from a diverse group of suspense writers made the conference invaluable.
